Kyrgyzstan has become a popular subject as of late for some amazing amateur and professional filmmakers who have accidentally or deliberately stumbled upon its splendor. I’ve been wanting to share some of these for a while, in the hopes that they’ll spark more interest in visiting the region.
First up is a film called Live Now In Kyrgyzstan by a man named Pete Rojwongsuriya.
This video immediately challenges the preconceptions you might have hearing the “stan” suffix on Kyrgyzstan, quickly focusing in on its splendor and welcoming population. Not gonna lie, this one definitely got me a little bit nostalgic. It’s hard to believe that I called Kyrgyzstan home for over two years.
Another video that got a lot of attention in the past year is called Lost In Kyrgyzstan, and it won the National Geographic Traveler award for video in 2017. Filmed from a drone by bloggers Sara Izzi and Timur Tugalev for The Lost Avocado, this stunning video also captures Kyrgyzstan with even more majesty.
Finally, one last video to share, called This Is Kyrgyzstan by Mohamed Elbangy, which was part of a tourism promotion project to show Kyrgyzstan off to to the outside world.
What do all of these videos have in common? They are exquisite advertisements for everything that people stand to experience in exploring Kyrgyzstan. I can’t wait to go back.
And an added bonus: there’s also a Lost In Kazakhstan by the same producers! Take a look and check out their blog as well over at The Lost Avocado.
Hey, Mark, what a pleasure! Thank you so much for featuring our video! All the best to you, Sara and Timur!
